Bogler Co - Ultralight Backpacking Trowel

Patent Pending design hand made in the USA. This small shovel is designed to be used by ultralight backpackers and hikers as a potty trowel.

Made of super tough aircraft grade aluminum which has a strength to weight ratio rivaling that of the highest grade titanium. Use it to pry through rocky soil without fear of bending or damaging the tip.

The thin edge cuts cleanly through turf and small roots. The serrated edge cuts through medium roots.

The end cap provides comfort and digging power. Use full force while digging without the handle cutting into your palm. The UV-resistant plastic end cap is attached with 2 stainless steel screws.

Holes along the spine improve grip while digging. Also thread a rope through the two holes in the center of the trowel to use it as a deadman anchor. Also makes a great spare tent stake, shoehorn and flyswatter. This pocket sized, virtually weightless shovel is also a great companion for gardening and metal detecting.

To demonstrate the strength of this trowel I used a rock to hammer it into the hardest ground I could find and pulled back on the handle with a pull scale using a stick for leverage. It read 42 lb of force before it threw a big chunk of dirt and rocks into the air. The trowel was not damaged.

These trowels are not anodized because it does not add anything to the functionality of the tool and the process involves toxic chemicals that I don’t want in my home shop or our environment. A well-used trowel gains a simple rustic aesthetic all its own.

Do not use this product in fire. Exposure to open flame will change the heat treatment properties of the metal, weakening it.
